Winter Hikes, Nordic Walking & Snowshoeing

Winter hiking and snowshoeing as well as winter Nordic walking on 30 km of cleared paths for pure winter romance and adventure. Trudge through glorious, snow-covered winter forests, through untouched deep snow, become one with nature and yourself, and as evening approaches, the light cast by your head lamp will keep you right on track.

Sledding

The sled run from the Reitlehenalm is 5 kilometers long. If you don't happen to have your own sled, you will be able to borrow one.

Horses - pure romance

Whether in the saddle or the back of a sleigh, the coldest season of the year here in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee promises pure romance for everyone who ventures out away from the pistes and cross-country trails, for example along our wonderfully maintained winter bridle paths.

Ice Stock& Ice Skating
Enjoy an "ice-stock" match right in front of the Reitlehenalm - and you can rent out all the equipment you need to enjoy this unique Alpine sport!
There are two ice-stock rinks in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee.
For a romantic experience we would suggest the frozen waters of lake Zauchensee at 1,350 m above sea level. But if you prefer a more competitive setting, why not try the ice rink located  in the center of Altenmarkt.
